Last Saturday, 20 May, in Piazza XVII Martiri di Palianothe municipal administration and the Gea Srl presented the Newtron electric porterthe first electric waste collection vehicle to be used in the municipality.

The vehicle, electrically retrofitted thanks to the Newtron kitIt produces neither air polluting emissions nor noise pollution. Furthermore, the electric motor, compared to the endothermic engine, has lower costs per kilometre and lower maintenance costs, as well as a longer life cycle. This is a way to modernise and make the vehicles more environmentally friendly, saving not only in terms of emissions, but also economically.
