The perfect electric car? Yours
12 June 2024Newtron's hybrid revolution
13 June 2024A unique example, a Fiat 600 Multipla, totally electric, made by Garage Italia for the St.Regis Hotel in Rome.
The car, equipped with a electrical retrofit kit signed Newtron Srl, is equipped with an asynchronous three-phase brushless motor and LifeP04 lithium batteries for a guaranteed autonomy of 150km and a speed of up to 95km/h.
The company founded by Lapo Elkann ventured into a very special project, combining technology, luxury and artand features the new 'courtesy car' of the St.Regis Hotel in Rome, one of the capital's most exclusive hotels.
The car chosen by Garage Italia is a model Fiat of 1962which was completely disassembled and reworked piece by piece, a necessary procedure for the installation of the Newtron electrical upgrading system and to proceed to the extreme customisation of every detail, an element that distinguishes all the works of art by Garage Italia.
A 24K gold leaf
Aesthetically, two colours were chosen for the car's exterior that recall the era of its launch, the black and ivory pastelfinished with a special glass-effect paint and embellished with a horizontal line obtained by the application of a 24K gold leaf which accompanies the sides of the car. Also in the same gold colour are the bumpers and all the original chrome mouldings. Upholstered in Alcantara leather are many of the interior elements.
A fresco on the car sky
Commissioned by the luxurious St. Regis hotel in Rome, Lapo Elkann's automotive atelier has brought the car back to life, while introducing a decidedly unique touch to the interior: on the ceiling and part of the upholstery, the Triumph of Divine Providence an enormous fresco by Pietro da Cortona, painted between 1632 and 1639 in the vault of the reception hall of the Palazzo Barberini in Rome.
The car with electrical retrofit kit will accompany hotel guests around the historic centre.
